Mouthwatering

Tourmaline, the birthstone for October, has more varied colors than any other gemstone. With more than 100 hues available, tourmaline is an extremely complex borosilicate that occurs in every color. Scientifically, tourmaline is not a single mineral, but a group of minerals related in physical and chemical properties. Therefore a range of chemical compositions occur and many individual crystals show zones of multiple colors. Although red, green and multicolored are its most famous colors, tourmaline's can resemble almost any other gemstone. From the most rare and exquisite Paraiba, Rubellite and Cat’s eye varieties, to the unique watermelon, bi-color and chrome specimens, tourmaline is truly is a wondrous and fascinating stone!

Royal Blue

Every fall we expect to see an onslaught of dark reds and warm yellows–the changing leaves are a never-ending source of inspiration, but bright cobalt? That’s a little more unexpected. This fall, Mykonos Blue is exactly the hue everyone will be wearing and we couldn’t be more thrilled about the eye-popping color’s popularity. It’s the perfect way to transition from the vibrant hues of the summer, plus it looks good on every skin tone. Whether sophisticated and structured or lively and vivid, this incredible hue has something for everyone! From clothes and shoes, to jackets and jewelry, this bold, meditative blue is fast becoming a new classic.

If you are looking for a royal blue gemstone that will complement your fall wardrobe and beyond, try something from our Kyanite collection. The name Kyanite is derived from the Greek word Kyanos, meaning blue, and the most popular varieties display the most intense cornflower blues that appear to be almost like sapphire. Unlike its sapphire counterparts, Kyanite is actually quite affordable. The featured pieces of Kyanite and White Topaz jewelry set in sterling silver give the perfect pop of rich color. Find the design that suits you from the Kyanite Gemstone collection now available at Starfire Jewelry.

Mermaid Treasure

According to legend, aquamarine originated in the treasure chest of fabulous mermaids, and has, since ancient times, been regarded as 'the sailors' lucky stone'. Aquamarine derives its name from the Latin term for seawater and has a long tradition of being a stone for those who spend much of their time at sea. The Greeks and the Romans knew aquamarine as the sailor's gem too, ensuring the safe and prosperous passage across many stormy seas. Legend has it that aquamarines were the prized possessions of many mermaids and would thus protect sailors from the dangers of sea, including warding off sea-sickness.

Aquamarine is a blue to green-blue variety of precious beryl. The beryl group of minerals is most famous for chromium-rich, green emerald, which happens to be one of the 'Precious Four' gems of the world (diamond, sapphire and ruby are the remaining three). Like sea water, aquamarine reflects shades of light blue, dark blue, blue-green and green-blue color. The more saturated the color, the higher the value, although almost all aquamarine is typically a lighter blue tone. They are exceptionally hard and have a vitreous, glass-like luster.
Aquamarine is a beautiful gem that complements almost any skin or eye color, which makes it an all-time favorite for women the world over. Stop in to Starfire Jewelry and discover an enchanting aquamarine mermaid treasure for yourself.

Circles

The circle is perhaps the purest, most profound and the most common symbol in existence. A circle, having no beginning or end, represents infinity, eternity, wholeness and femininity. Some meaningfully and significant symbols or objects that are circular are Stonehenge, the Wheel of Life, and a halo around the head of a saint. The circle symbol meaning is universal, sacred and divine. It represents the infinite nature of energy, and the inclusivity of the universe.

The beautiful and lively gemstone combination set in the center of the sterling silver circles are Blue Topaz, Peridot, Green Quartz and Turquoise.
